Our Purpose

The mission of our church

Twin Cities Baptist Church is an independent Baptist Church that focuses on the fundamentals of our faith.  We stand on the authority of Scripture, and acknowledge Jesus Christ as the head of our church. The mission of Twin Cities Baptist Church is to share the gospel, to minister to Christians, and above all, to glorify God.

Why are we here?

We are a diverse community of believers who come from all walks of life and we welcome you! It doesn't matter where you come from, Jesus said "come". We are here to glorify God, spread the good news about Jesus, and lift each other up in prayer.

The Bible: God's Holy Word

We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, inspired, infallible Word of God and it is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice.  The King James Bible is the only bible preached and taught at our church. The scriptures are only effective though if we are "doers of the word, and not hearers only".

What exactly is salvation?

Salvation is very simply this: mankind accepting Jesus Christ's free gift on the cross. Well, you might ask, "how do I get there from here?"  It's a straight simple road to follow: A realization that we are all sinners, a repentance, or turning away from sin, and an acceptance of Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.  It's really that simple, but its a decision of the heart, not a repeat- after-me mantra.

Our People

We welcome you, ties are not mandatory :)

At Twin Cities Baptist Church, we welcome you! Due to our close proximity to Offutt AFB, we have many active duty, retired, reserve and veterans who attend services. Our membership spans multiple cultures, nationalities, races, occupations, sizes, shapes and personalities! But we are all rowing in one direction, sharing Christ, worshiping God and growing together in grace!

Worship Service

A typical worship service for our church consists of prayer, music and the preaching or teaching of the bible. A church service typically lasts about an hour, occasionally we go over by a few minutes, sometimes we wrap up a few minutes early.

Music

Our music would be considered as traditional or conservative. Although the older hymns of the faith comprise the majority of our music selections, we certainly aren't opposed to newer pieces of music, but the music has to glorify God, without mimicking the world.

Sunday School Classes

Sunday School classes are divided by age and children are taught Bible lessons about honesty, character, kindness, and other virtues. Adults meet for Sunday School in the auditorium. Parents can, of course, bring their youngsters to the auditorium class if they are so inclined.

Nursery

Our church nursery provides care for newborns up through age 3. The ladies of Twin Cities Baptist Church treat each infant and toddler just as if he or she was their own!

Salvation in Jesus Christ

Our Sin

The Bible tell us that we are all sinners.  Romans 5:12: Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.  The Bible also tells us that sin is what separates us from God. Romans 3:23: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  that the penalty for sin is death, not just a physical death, but a spiritual death in hell.   Revelation 21:8 tells of the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.  This is why we need a savior, and there is good news for all mankind!

His gift

The good news or "gospel" is that Christ paid for that sin.  Romans 5:8: But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  The greatest gift mankind has ever received was his only begotten son, Jesus. The Bible tells us in John 3:16:  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Our choice

Jesus does not force himself on us. He wishes to give us the free gift of salvation, but only if we choose to accept it!  The bible tells us in Revelation 3:20 that Jesus says: Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. However it is still our choice, John 3: 18 tells us:  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Every person must make a choice. What will your choice be?

His Promise

God cannot lie, plain and simple. The bible tells us that once Jesus is made Lord and Savior of our lives, he will never leave us nor forsake us. Hebrews 13:5 tells us:  for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.  He bought eternal life for all. Jesus owns and freely gives eternal life. In fact, he promises that: him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. (John 6:37).  Inviting Christ into your heart is a re-birth experience that will set your feet on a new path, and secure your soul for eternity in heaven.
